About the Speakers –  Michael Oher and Don Yaeger

Don Yaeger delivers powerful, inspirational, and transformational keynote speeches to diverse audiences across the country.  Components of his keynote are centered around one of Don’s best-selling books called Greatness:  16 Characteristics of True Champions.

Michael Oher is a champion featured in the book and in many of Don’s keynotes.  In fact, their relationship is something that continues to this day—long after the two co-wrote a 2nd book on Michael’s life in “I Beat the Odds”.   NFL power offensive linemen and Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Ravens.

We are bringing Don back again this year to tell an engaging story of the 6-foot-4, 315 pound football player who didn’t let his harsh circumstances of growing up in Memphis prevent him from going after—and grabbing hold of his dreams.  Oher’s story became a box office success in the movie Blindside—written about his high school days of playing football while homeless, getting adopted by an inviting family, excelling in sports, earning a college scholarship, and an NFL career.   Don had the chance to follow Oher after he’d won a Super Bowl and obtained millions of dollars, back to an offseason visit to the middle of Mississippi.  It’s here Don learned that while most millionaire athletes are vacationing, going shopping, throwing parties, Oher was in the weight room working out and trying to get better, stronger, faster & smarter.  It’s this work ethic and constant drive to seek the next goal, that drove Oher to personal success—and a place in Don Yaeger’s study of true champions.

Don’s words from stage will quickly put you in Michael’s mindset of not knowing where the next meal would come from, but still resisting the urge to follow destructive paths.  The story will motivate you to press harder toward your goals.

Michael Oher will then join Don onstage for a Q&A session you’re not going to want to miss!
